Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of TeachingThis website is the main site for the Carnegie Foundation. It was very helpful in the sense that it gave all of the needed information about the foundation, including its history, accomplishments, and goals. There were not many drawbacks to this website, for it was also easy to navigate and well-organized.
College Board: The SATThis website gave information about the SAT test, and described what it was and how to improve your SAT scores. It was helpful in the sense that it provided all of the needed information about the test itself. However, the website did not provide any details about the SAT Test's history, which was a major drawback.
American Educational History: A Hypertext TimelineThis website was basically a long list of significant events that occurred in chronological order with brief descriptions. The events date back to 1600, and include all the way up until 2013. This website had an abundant amount of useful information, much of it related to education. However, the site was slightly overwhelming and dull, considering it was literally a long list of information. Overall, the website served as a brilliant source of information for our timeline.
Texas-InstrumentsThis website was the main page for Texas-Instruments. It gave all of the needed information about the organization, as well as statistics that help get a better understanding of their success. Britannica Encyclopedia: David WechslerThis article gave a brief description of who David Wechsler was. Although it was informational, this website was not very helpful because it did not provide many details about Wechsler's life, and did not describe his accomplishments. Therefore, this website was not very useful when we were making the IQ Test page like it could have been.
American Nation Biography Online: Melvil DeweyThis biography gave a well-detailed overview of who Dewey was and what he did throughout his life. It was very useful because I could use the given information for my Melvil Dewey biography as well as the Dewey Decimal System page. The only drawback to this website when it comes to searching for information was that it did not concentrate primarily on the accomplishments of Dewey, but more on his entire life in general. This, although, is reasonable because the website was made to be a biography on Melvil Dewey.
NJ Department of Education Organization ChartThis chart was very helpful in our organization page. It shows just how complex the organization in the education department is today. The only drawback for this website is that it only showed the organization for New Jersey, which may or may not be different from that of other states. It also only shows the organization at state level, rather than national level.
The History of IBMThis website gave a detailed overview of IBM's history and how it came it be. It was very useful in the biography for IBM, and also gave a brief description of IBM today. There were no major drawbacks to this website, for it provided all of the needed information in much detail.
State Laws Relating to Education, Enacted in 1918 and 1919This website was basically an online book stating the laws of 1918 and 1919.
