The IQ Test
Question from a kid's IQ test.
The Intelligence Quotient Test was developed by David Wechsler in 1939. Wechsler made different versions of the IQ Test for people of different ages. The first test covered all ages from six to 16, and the second covered people from 16-89 years of age. The IQ Test was created to determine the intelligence level for people of different ages, and it is still accurate today. However, many people take the IQ Test several times and average out their scores to get a better understanding of what their IQ really is. By doing this, the person averages out any environmental effects that could have altered their IQ the first few times taking the test. Wechsler’s IQ Test also helped in the education field by helping schools accurately determine which students needed special education. After using the test results to determine these students, schools could take separate actions to make sure the students with special needs are educated at a more fitting rate and difficulty level than the other students. This allowed for all students to be educated based off of their abilities.
