The Creationism Act
Creationism vs. Evolution drawing.
The “Creationism Act” was estabolished on January 5th, 1982 after a debate on the meaning of creation sciences was evaluated by judge William Overton. He decided that creation science was teaching students about religion which was a violation of the First Amendment. This act was very important because it was the starting point to the controvery on religion in schools, and began the evalutauion of certain teaching in school. Today, religion in school is strictly prohibited, and because of the Creationism Act, creation science is no longer taught in schools around the country.
