Microsoft 1.0 was created from 1982 through 1985 by Paul Allen and Bill Gates. The code name for this operating system is “Interface Manager” because for the first time, a computer could do daily tasks with a push of a finger and slide of a hand.
“IBM did not give Microsoft the same encouragement for Windows that they gave the other operating system that Microsoft brokered to IBM.”
This new technology allows students to easily navigate and select commands on a computer screen because of the use of the mouse.

Icons located on computer programs allowed students to use them with ease, and day-to- day necessities such as a clock, notepad, calculator, calendar, and paint are available right on the students computer. Rather than writing things down on a piece of paper, or taking out your calculator or watch, students were able to have access to daily necessities at a click of a button. Microsoft 1.0 was just the start to the new technology advances throughout the country for easier education.
